Mixed Media Monday challenge

Do you recognise anyone...yep that is me 'Chriss' on the left with my Tina Turner wig on, we dressed up for our pub Halloween Party in 1989 and this pic is of the staff ...My sister is the Bride of Frankenstein memories.. what a brilliant night.
The layout was put together by Papergirl Chrissy using the fabulous Cosmo Cricket Haunted Papers and rub ons.. that cobweb is really awesome and went on so easily along with all the other rub ons used.

We are entering this layout for Mixed Media Monday's challenge... http://mixedmediamonday.wordpress.com ...OK do I hear WHAT! WHERE! ...Well if you look up the definition of Harmony you will see these words
5* Pleasantness in arrangement: *a pleasing effect produced by an arrangement of things, parts or colours... OK... we may be 'grasping at straws' here but I think we are all VERY 'pleasantly arranged' wouldn't you agree lol and the lay out is a pleasing effect of colour. rofl. Have we got away with this one???

Here are some sneak peeks of some other Halloween photo's Chrissy scrapped of her DGS on the same night we got together for a crafting session. If you would like to see more then pop over and have a nosey...just click on

I love NUMBERS I do, and so when I saw it was the challenge over at 'Theme Thursday' I was quite excited but wanted to do something other than vintage as I have made a few vintage 'Number' ATC's in the passed.

Yep!!!... you are looking a little tired this year and so da-da.... looked through my stash and with Autumn around the corner and Halloween being a big part of Autumn for me I sorted my Cosmo Cricket Haunted papers, stamps and ribbons, painted the bag black and hey presto ready for the party. Created by Hand Dragonfly challenge

This 4x4 I made sometime ago which just happens to fit the bill of dragonflies over at Created by Hand you can see other entries to this challenge over HERE.

I created the background using different coloured inks on shiny card stock (from an out of date calendar page) which for some reason just would not dry and so I used my heat gun which then turned the colours transparent ...don't ask me why I have no idea but I liked the end result...I then inked up my dragonfly stamp in white and randomly stamped away then stamped it again using a lilac stamp placing it over the white DF's.

After adhering the black and white image I recycled a piece of patterned acetate packaging from a gift my daughter received...nothing is safe lol... fastening it with 4 DF brads.

Thanx for looking. Chriss x

''The Time Lord''....and so here it is after digging my way through magazines etc. I was able to find this little lot. You can find other 'Time Arches' over HERE.

mixed media monday challenge

Hi,
Here is my challenge for the Mixed Media Monday it is based on a 'Star', yjis is my take on it, the background is a postcard I received, I have recycled it for my challenge... After finding this picture of Helen Mirren ( a true star) in a magazine I checked out her birth sign Leo (stars) included it in my piece...I inked some bubble wrap and dabbed around the edges of the card...found a contrasting agrylic paint and using a dry stencil brush I stippled all around the 3 images and then using a bottle cap I added circles of gesso to finish it off.
Thanx for looking. Chriss x

This Thursday And Arty Girlz challenges

OK the top picture has been hanging in my kitchen for 3 years it's from a set of 2 and when I read the 2 challenges ..arty girlz Alter something and this thursday (black is back) I decided to alter the picture and frame which I had planned to do for my GD for her Birthday in November, she has been gathering Audrey Hepburn 'stuff' for a while, ready to have her bedroom decorated in A H style....
First I painted the whole thing with black acrylic after removing the original picture (will use that for something else...lol)
I then added 2 x 2'' mirrors to each corner of the background, then added bling inbetween them.
I chose one of my brand new paper's from Anita's 6x6'' Classic Christmas Black Papers... never used her papers before but must say it truely is a lovely paper and the perfect colours to match Alecias silky bedding.

I then added this beautiful image from Karen at Scrapz.

The flourish is from one of Cosmo Cricket black board sets...unsure as to which one as I have a few of them but can find out if you wanted to know.
Finally I added some bling to her black German Metal crown to complete the look.

Here are a few close up pictures... in one you can see the ceiling rose lol...my photographer did well don't you think...thanks Chris. I hope Alecia likes it, I have bought silk and diamond cushions to match it along with a picture frame that is perfect to add to her room.
Thanx for looking.

dans ma maison ilya challenge

My entry into this week over at Dans Ma Maison Ilya. The theme being ''in my house there is a school kid''. This is my take on it.... I was looking for a craft item and came across a post card that I had received from my GORGEOUS friend Denise last year...it was a black and white picture of these 2 young children, so I cut it up and recycled the pair of them in my house... I love it so much I am having it framed.
The 3 stamps used on the background are part of the £50 prize of crafting goodies I was lucky enough to win from Fiskars.
Talking about my gorgeous friend Denise she is coming over from Dubai and is spending a few days with me from Tuesday 'til Friday. How lucky and thrilled am I.
Have a lovely day and thank you for looking. luv Chriss x
