Hello, Hello WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE?

Hello AND a Big smile from me...
We are glad to be back after being in possession of one very sick laptop thankfully my son Leigh fixed it just over a week ago but I had a lot of catching up to do with the ATC blog over HERE.

I didn't manage to do much in the way of paper crafting as I couldn't take on any of the weekly challenges....
HOWERVER I had a great time playing with my beads and thought that
I would show you a few pieces today.
The necklace below is my very first piece which I made and I am impressed with it even if I say so myself...lol... nothing like being modest ..lol.

I love the colours.
The pink glass pearls/jet beads is a little bracelet I made for a craft fair coming up soon.

the black and pink pearls are lovely together.
Now for some very EXCITING news..... I have been soooooo so lucky to have been accepted as part of the Lisa's Altered Art creative design team....can you hear me screeeeeaaaaaming with delight.... I have known for a whole month but couldn't let you know due to not being able to get onto my puter.
This little altered chewing packet is boasting one of Lisa's fab images, I know alot of you like her images so I hope that you pop over and check out her site as she has some new ones to share with you. See the link on the right.
I also used some of my fab Cosmo Cricket paper on this little piece of altered art.... hope uuuuu like.

Have to dash now as am expected over at DD to spend time with DGC 1,2+3.
Once again so glad to be back.

Altered Wine Boxes.

Hi,
Back again after a short break from blogging however behind the scenes there has been a little altering going on.

Do you remember not tooo long ago I told you that I had challenged both Chris and Debbie to alter a wine box using Cosmo Cricket Papers.

I found the boxes in a sale they were reduced to just over a £1 50 each.... no way would I have bought them to give as a gift for a bottle of wine as they were... but I could see them being altered,

You can see the wine box being stripped of the paper which actually took me almost 2hrs of scraping and wetting to get mine off.

This is Debbies altered wine box using Cosmo Cricket papers... first she gave the wood a pistachio green wash and then covered the door in CC paper and using their push out letters arranged the word 'Vino'

Next we have Chris' she printed out a gorgeous image and added a few words from CC 12x12 papers she decorated it with some pretty silk flowers after giving the box a teak coloured wash.

The words read.... I can't wait 'til tomorrow 'cos, I get prettier everyday...

Chris then added a very unusual crown to her little Princess.

She then finished it by covering the handle in matching paper and changed the rope for ribbon.
Didn't they do well... ...round of applause please....see below for my altered wine box.

Hello ...Just what have we been getting up to

Hello,

I forgot to share this ATC with you which I entered for The Crafty Individual

ATC challenge, I sent in 2, one that you have already seen. Although I don't know who received mine I was delighted with the 2 I received...Thanks to Jean and Malcolm for arranging the swap.

WHAT is this I hear you ask...well something that would normally find it's way into the bin .... however my daughter who doesn't understand my love of paper and stamps and crafting...CHALLENGED me to do something with the sugar free chewing gum packet and hey ...she was impressed....so if you want to see what I came up with pop back next week and I will show you.

Along with this set of drawers.... pop back to see what I have done to them!!!
Not forgetting the above wine box which I challenged Chris, Debbie and myself to CHANGE the look of using COSMO CRICKET papers.... just how did we cope with this challenge ...what did we create????

Thank you to everyone who has left comments even though I have been unable to get around to you before today.

Tag you're it... Wings

Hi,
Chris and I have just spent a fabulous 24hrs crafting our likkle hearts out with very little sleep taking place.

This tag is for the Tag You're It challenge this week and is one of the pieces that I finished...Can't tell you what Chris created but I will say one of them has loads of lovely lace and both of them have lots of pearls and stamping..keep an eye out for them on her blog...they are stunning.

Now back to my tag, the paper used is one of Cosmo Crickets the stamp is from Karen at Scrapz (paperartzy) along with the German metal wings.

I tried 'dooooood-ling' without my glasses...'cos I've lost them and waiting for my new ones, I couldn't see properly... hence a bit untidy... but never mind I'll do better next time LOL.

I also created a gorgeous holder for wine using even more of the fab Cosmo Cricket papers however thats for a later post as I have challenge Chris to make one too she has just 2weeks to complete it.
Thank you for stopping by this week it means alot to us.

Have a great weekend.

artgirlz challenge 'frames and Tanda challenge in the frame

This week at the Artygirlz we were challenged to use a frame.
I made these 2 Christmas cards using Crafty Individuals Craft mounts
You can purchase a pack of 12 empty mounts,
The mounts can be covered in decorative papers, or stamped with inks, and used to embellish cards, scrapbooks, etc.
I chose to Emboss the frames but firstly Chris, I played with some inks putting a few drops of our chosen colours onto an old table mat and then diluted them with water.... then gently wiped the mount in the inks... picking up colour where we wanted it...leaving the frames to dry.
I chose the same background from CI Christmas paper book, ( I love CI papers)
Then chose images from CI Christmas image book.
I then decided to emboss the frames, again choosing a selection of CI stamps and heat embossing the top card with Verdigris and the bottom card with gold.
I have also included these in for the Tanda challenge for last week ... In the frame.
Be back soon to with the awards,
Chriss x

The Awfully big art adventure

Hello,
Sorry I have been a bad blogger this week...life just got in the way :(.

I actually took part in 2 of last weeks challenges but didn't get around to blogging them 1 was for Linda and Rosie on the challenge of an ANGEL.
Here is mine and I am sorry she's late.
I couldn't scan her as she is too big for the scanner bed and had to wait for Chris to take her Pics (thanks Chris)

I love primitive angels I have a few in most rooms in my house and so was inspired by them when I created her.

The Little red safety pin and the 'saying' are both from Karen at Scrapz...all the papers used to make her are some of the new Christmas papers from Cosmo Cricket ...they are soo Yummy

This not sooo little angel will hang in my hall along with the others I have sitting on the fire alarm box.
Tomorrow I will blog the Artygirlz challenge for last week before the new one goes up.
I will also get round to visiting you all too I am sorry I haven't been to see your blogs in a little while but feel sure you will understand.
I too will also catch up with the wonderful awards that have be given to the papergirls...thank you.
Plus Chris will be blogging tomorrow on here to let you know all about Decembers challenge to alter a piece of jigsaw... she will be challenging you to use her fave embellishment...I wonder do you know what it is....is it 1 SILVER, 2 BLING or 3 GOLD.... answers on a postcard please.

Altered CD challenge win these postal stamps

Your chance to win these great stamps by entering our Altered CD challenge ..see below

Our next challenge will be on Monday the 10th of November... the challenge is to alter an old CD which must include words from a magazine/newspaper and as before using any other medium you wish, email them to me at chrissylamata@live.co.uk

Here we are with our challenge for November.....

To alter an old CD to the specifications above....

You may think no problems... and yes both Chris and I thought.. 'great, love this challenge' and so during our crafting session on Wednesday we completed ours and thought wow that was OK.
UNTIL.... today when I read the challenge before posting them... and we had both forgotten to use words from a magazine/newspaper.... DOH!!! rofl.... we were howling at our mistake.... and so back to the drawing board.

'Oh Baby, Them there eyes' is Chris' fabulous example of altering a CD, she used Cosmo Cricket papers and chipboard making it into a scrapbooking page which she intends to turn into a book..good idea and wait 'till DGS see's his photo. She even managed to use one of the postal stamps to the leaves on the 3d tree.

This altered CD above was my first attempt but does not abide by the rules however I am showing you it anyway... lol. but it doesn't count as the challenge...lol

The stamps I used are some of the postal ones you are able to win by entering your own Altered CD in the challenge, they are from Tanda Stamps and the lovely images are from Crafty Individuals the hats from Lisa's altered art.

Above we have my example and this time I am using words from a magazine.... only 2 of them... they are 'Forever Friends' I had to search for something to go with these images as I sooo wanted to use them...they are from 'The Artistic Stamper' 20's plate which I was lucky enough to win in a challenge over at 'The Artygirlz blog' earlier this year. The papers are from Anita's Christmas range. the sentiment is from 'Rivercity Rubberworks' I purchased it about 2yrs ago... Karen at Scrapz does stock some of their stamps.

Because we are almost a day late posting our examples due to our mistake we will give you until midnight Tuesday our time to email them to us at the address above.

We already have some great altered CD's in so if you would like to spread the word a bit more then please do.

PLEASE DO NOT put your entries onto your blog before we have a winner which will be chosen by YOU using a poll... we will post the entries on Wednesday 12th Nov.

Hope you are still with us but before we sign off I must show you a photo of a man Chris found for me...she thinks it's time I had one lol

Let me tell you my hair and body actually looked like that 5 years ago... I am off to dream of him rofpmsl..thanx Chris...night night.
P.S. she found him at Photofunia
See the altered box file below using the Tanda Stamps which are up for grabs on this post.

Love Chris and Chriss xx

an altered box

Another great crafting session with Chris last night, I finished some of my altered boxes off, this is one of them... I will use it for a gift.
It's the packaging from my face cream.. which I covered in another of Cosmo Cricket gorgeous papers added 4 of Crafty Individual images on the outside and using one of my fave stamps before attaching a double ribbon handle to it.
I was lucky enough to have a new photographer last night too... my lovely DGD Jordie, she was 16 just 10 days before my birthday and one of her pressies was a new didgital camera which she used for the 2nd time. She is putting together a port folio for her school work.
Thank you Jordie, ''love you loads''....is what i said to her and she answered as always with..... ''Love you more''.
Thanx Chris for a great night of crafting too.
Have a good weekend

Cosmo Cricket Note Book

Chris and I got together on another of our crafting sessions you know the ones where we are forced to eat C H O C O L A T E ....rofpmsl.. we were also forced to play with the new papers from Cosmo Cricket what a bummer!

Using both Haunted and Mr Campy Papers, Chris altered this fabulous note book.

Catch up on Linda and Rosies challenges

At last I am able to show you my altered match box AND altered tin which I finally completed for the 1st and 3rd challenge over on Linda n Rosie's fabulous blog see over HERE

The saying above is a stamp that I had made by Tanda Stamps see side bar... for direct link.
Tell me a girl who has enough shoes :))

Now for the altered tin... Below is a piece of Cosmo Cricket Paper which I cut to size for the bean tin but before sticking it to the tin I altered the paper to complement my image.... using chocolate ink I dabbed it all over the paper and loved the result, next I added the ribbons, image and sentiment.... one altered tin which I intend to use as a money box when I purchase a plastic replaceable lid and cutting a slit in the top to feed the money in.... to buy more shoes...lol rofpmsl

P.S. the top is not dented I think I cropped a little too close. LOL

Would like to say thankx for the birthday wishes for both Nathan and myself....I had a fabulous day with family and then an afternoon through 'till midnight crafting with Chris.

What more could a girl need.. XX
Thanx for the challenges.
Wishing you all a good weekend.

Mixed Media Monday challenge

Do you recognise anyone...yep that is me 'Chriss' on the left with my Tina Turner wig on, we dressed up for our pub Halloween Party in 1989 and this pic is of the staff ...My sister is the Bride of Frankenstein memories.. what a brilliant night.
The layout was put together by Papergirl Chrissy using the fabulous Cosmo Cricket Haunted Papers and rub ons.. that cobweb is really awesome and went on so easily along with all the other rub ons used.

We are entering this layout for Mixed Media Monday's challenge... http://mixedmediamonday.wordpress.com ...OK do I hear WHAT! WHERE! ...Well if you look up the definition of Harmony you will see these words
5* Pleasantness in arrangement: *a pleasing effect produced by an arrangement of things, parts or colours... OK... we may be 'grasping at straws' here but I think we are all VERY 'pleasantly arranged' wouldn't you agree lol and the lay out is a pleasing effect of colour. rofl. Have we got away with this one???

Here are some sneak peeks of some other Halloween photo's Chrissy scrapped of her DGS on the same night we got together for a crafting session. If you would like to see more then pop over and have a nosey...just click on
