Mona's mood swings

I do hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas... I had a lovely time with my gorgeous family.
As you can see I have been playing with Chris' Mona stamp along with different inks on the backgrounds of the ATC's.
With the use of different inks and colours she is almost like one of those mood rings.... she takes on a very different look on each ATC.
I just thought I would share them with you as her 'mum' Chris is coming over to collect her tomorrow .... I will be sad to see her go...Karen (Scrapz) please can you order my very own Mona in for me. ROFPMSL.
Take care Chriss x

Altered jigsaw challenge...Bling

Hi all... well here we are with this months challenge :D We would like you to alter a jigsaw piece, any shape or size you wish. The only stipulation is that it MUST include 'bling' well it would have to wouldn't it when I'm setting the challenge..lol Here is my example... I used free background paper from Cen's loft and the Santa image is from Cen's crafty bits. I added lots of glitter and bling and used an Artistic Stamper flourish stamp to add interest to the background. My little finishing touch was to add hanging paper baubles stamped with a snowflake stamp (can't be seen very well here but there are more pics on my personal blog)
We have a free template for you to use if you don't have a jigsaw piece of your own but you need to enlarge the picture by clicking on it before saving it to your computer and printing out. Sticking the template onto cardboard before cutting out will give you a stronger base to work on.
The template is in four sizes so that you can use the one best suited to your own project :D

Chriss will be adding her example to this post shortly and will give you the rest of the details for the challenge and the end date. So happy crafting from me and I will be looking forward to your entry :D
hugs
Chris xx

UPDATE
Thanx Chris for setting this months challenge to alter a jigsaw which must include BLING, LOL.
We have 1 week to do this... closing Monday 15th Dec 12 noon UK time.
By either using the templates Chris has shared with us or you can use your own whatever you decide just leave us a comment telling us where to find you and we will pop along to see your creation.
We will use a Random Integer Generator to choose 1 lucky person to receive a little surprise crafty goody bag from us.
Happy altering ....I am off to do mine now!!!
Have fun.
Chriss x

At last here is my altered jigsaw for our challenge although it is not a brilliant scan sorry.

I covered the puzzle piece in a remnant of wallpaper, stamped the Crafty Individual Queen of Hearts stamp onto an ATC with black stayzon ink.

Added the BLING (just for our lovely Chris) to her crown and at the bottom of the puzzle... Then stamped randomly using the CI postage stamp... adhered a diamond circle on her eye which I bought from Karen at Scrapz.

Looking forward to seeing your altered puzzles.

artgirlz challenge 'frames and Tanda challenge in the frame

This week at the Artygirlz we were challenged to use a frame.
I made these 2 Christmas cards using Crafty Individuals Craft mounts
You can purchase a pack of 12 empty mounts,
The mounts can be covered in decorative papers, or stamped with inks, and used to embellish cards, scrapbooks, etc.
I chose to Emboss the frames but firstly Chris, I played with some inks putting a few drops of our chosen colours onto an old table mat and then diluted them with water.... then gently wiped the mount in the inks... picking up colour where we wanted it...leaving the frames to dry.
I chose the same background from CI Christmas paper book, ( I love CI papers)
Then chose images from CI Christmas image book.
I then decided to emboss the frames, again choosing a selection of CI stamps and heat embossing the top card with Verdigris and the bottom card with gold.
I have also included these in for the Tanda challenge for last week ... In the frame.
Be back soon to with the awards,
Chriss x

The Awfully big art adventure

Hello,
Sorry I have been a bad blogger this week...life just got in the way :(.

I actually took part in 2 of last weeks challenges but didn't get around to blogging them 1 was for Linda and Rosie on the challenge of an ANGEL.
Here is mine and I am sorry she's late.
I couldn't scan her as she is too big for the scanner bed and had to wait for Chris to take her Pics (thanks Chris)

I love primitive angels I have a few in most rooms in my house and so was inspired by them when I created her.

The Little red safety pin and the 'saying' are both from Karen at Scrapz...all the papers used to make her are some of the new Christmas papers from Cosmo Cricket ...they are soo Yummy

This not sooo little angel will hang in my hall along with the others I have sitting on the fire alarm box.
Tomorrow I will blog the Artygirlz challenge for last week before the new one goes up.
I will also get round to visiting you all too I am sorry I haven't been to see your blogs in a little while but feel sure you will understand.
I too will also catch up with the wonderful awards that have be given to the papergirls...thank you.
Plus Chris will be blogging tomorrow on here to let you know all about Decembers challenge to alter a piece of jigsaw... she will be challenging you to use her fave embellishment...I wonder do you know what it is....is it 1 SILVER, 2 BLING or 3 GOLD.... answers on a postcard please.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day.

Hi this week I am thrilled to be your hostess for the Gothic Arch challenge.

I have chosen the theme 'Silhouettes' as I have had this stunning dancing couple in my Stash for 2 years ....shame on me....lol.

So today I give them to you and can you believe I have used my favourite Cosmo Cricket paper on the background...I was saving it for something special...I guess the time has come today.
Other images Crafty Individuals

Arty girlz challenge 'Inspired'

Over at the ARTYGIRLS this week our challenge is to choose a blog we like and without copying exactly deliver a piece of art we have been inspired by.
The person I have chosen to be tonight Matthew is... oops, sorry, wrong programme..lol

The person I have chosen is Kris'....I first found Kris in May '08 when I was blog hopping and loved her work soooo much, how lucky was I that she was giving 3 of her painted ATC's away I asked for one of them, very soon it arrived in the post and I added it to my collection with great PRIDE.
Thank you Kris I will always treasure the above ATC. x

However for the challenge I have been inspired by another piece of her fabulous work, a very romantic pink canvas she has posted on her blog on the 23rd Oct. over HERE

I searched for a romantic flowing dress which i picked up for a song from Dolce Gabbana, and went from there and as you all know I love painted circles on some of my work so this was right up my street.

This is my version of Kris' truely creative piece... T H A N K Y O U Kris.
Sadly her head and halo are not fixed to her body as iI would like, I had them set out ok before gluing them down and would you believe on this occasion the glue stuck immediately and it was impossible to remove and reposition her.
Never mind she is still going on my wall :)) I like her.
The paper used over the canvas is from the PM 'simply elegant' pack and the really lovely gold embossing powder is one of Debbie Moore's.
The paper ribbon that sits along the lower edge of the canvas came in a RAK from Linda Vincent..thanx L.
Thanks for the challenge Girlz I really enjoyed it.
Have a lovely weekend and thanks for looking.
