Tea Tuesday Post

Happy Tea Tuesday one and all,

Here I share a few pictures of my baby cherry tree in blossom I woke yesterday and not a bloom in sight and by lunch time wow, an amazing array of colour.

And if you remember a little while back I share a few pictures of my dining room cupboard I rescued from my daughters garage well it has advanced a little as on Saturday I borrowed my friend Annie's husband Nick who spent many hours sanding away, some parts going down to the bare wood and other area's taking off the varnish to give it a key for the next stage.

He will be back next week to tackle my dining table which matches the unit and was also rescued from the garage.... am I a happy bunny :)))

Thank you sooooooo much Nick I am thrilled with what you have done so far and to everyone reading I will keep you posted on our TT.

And if you would like to know what the rest of the TT girls get up to why not pop over to Kimmies blog and check out the list.

I have been having a fab time with Chris we are having some girly time which includes lots of crafting... well it would, wouldn't it...lol..
I am smiling big time...

Today I had some very happy post from Patty.... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH, X... an email on it's way to you soon.

TEA TUESDAY

I miss my lovely girlfriend Denise she lives in Dubai.... Hello Denise, Miss you loads.

Tea Tuesday is here again .....it comes around mighty quick.
I thought that today I would share with you a piece of news I found on MSN UK all pictures and words I borrowed from them.

Three rare woolly pigs have arrived at a zoo in Essex as part of a programme to help save the breed from extinction.

The Mangalitzas originate from Austria and Hungary and were brought over to the UK by a breeder almost four years ago.

"At first sight people think they are sheep," said Denise Cox, education co-ordinator at Tropical Wings in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. "It is not until they turn around and you see their faces and snouts you realise they are in fact pigs."

"The woolly coat makes them very hardy and helps them to survive in the harsh winters in their native Austria and Hungary," Denise added. "In the summer it helps protects them from sunburn."

The sheep pig used to be a common sight in Lincolnshire, but it became extinct in Britain in 1972. The creature used to be shorn once a year to make wool for men's sweaters.

The sheep pigs are worth around £1,000, five times the value of an ordinary pig. They are fond of fruit and the occasional tipple.

"We want to show people what these native woolly pigs used to look like and ensure the breed remains in this country and survives," explained Denise Cox. "They have already become a real talking point at the zoo and everyone loves them."

Hair from a sheep pig is popular in the US as it retains air bubbles under water, making it perfect for tying fishing flies.

Don't you just LOVE them, but no mention of taste or whether they Blah or Oink!!! LOL
If you would like to join in with our Tea Tuesdays then pop over to the lovely Kimmies blog over H E R E.
Thanks for joining me.

Who has challenged me to join in with The Sunday Stampers I must stamp and use some SILVER for the challenge over H E R E

The background has been stamped with a Crafty Individual stamp the young girl was designed by the lovely Hermine.

The close up picture shows my silver before antiquing it... so you can see I have used silver....lol.

DGD Jessie is here for some crafting, she loves getting i n k y.

She challenged me to use the same stamp for the above challenge although this picture shows you her working on another challenge.... to be seen on her blog soon.

The tag below is her result of the challenge, she used inks and silver embossing for the background she also included one of C.I. new stamps...with her wicked SOH added.

The third use of silver for the challenge is from eldest GD Jordi she used paper mache' to form this dress painted it blue and then stapmed and embossed with the silver.

embossed it with silver and set it in a pretty frame.

I think both girls did a great job. 3 in 1. Thanks for the challenge.

Sunflowers and Tea Tuesday

Tea Tuesday Girls,

I was thinking on the lines of sunflowers a while back and thought I would make it my tea Tuesday post for today.

The famous name that comes to mind is of course the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh

Another of his well known paintings being 'The Cafe Terrace'

Below is a 11x14 tile art of the said painting which I have had for many years however it has never been on a wall yet...will have to put that right

Another wonderful painting of his is Starry Night ....

Possibly made more famous by another brilliant artist Don Maclean and so I leave you to listen to his amazing distinct voice.... it gave me goose pimples

For a list of other TT.... pop over to Kimmies blog over H E R E

Happy Tuesday

Vintage swaps and Chris' blog give away

For the Artist Trading Card monthly swap over H E R E the theme is Vintage set by the lovely Patty from Magpie's Nest.

Here's my take on the challenge.

The Images are from Lisa's Altered Art the flourish stamp from Crafty Individuals and the inks are from the new TH distress inks.

I have crackle glazed them however not good with the camera today with the migraine I am suffering.

The 3 below were created using vintage bits and pieces sent to me in the way of a swap from Contessa Kris, Thank you Kris. x

I just had to have a go using some of it.

They are not for the Vintage swap but for my own collection.

Do check out the post below for Chris' blog give away

Blog Give Away and challenge

Chris' blog 'give away and challenge and we all like a challenge you have to agree.

How would you like to be in with a chance of owning these 2 stamps designed by no other than our Chris some years ago.

She has them up for a challenge on her personal blog.... bling-kin-eck.... to be in with a chance of her give-away just pop over and collect the template she has designed and create a little something using one of the images from the sheet.

Here I have grabbed you a couple of close ups of just 2 of the pieces she has made using the templates.

The colours are yummy

why not pop over and see for yourself.
The challenge she has set using the templates allows you 2 weeks to complete...loads of time.
I had hoped to show you my Vintage ATC's for this months challenge over H E R E Ehowever I somehow...I say somehow 'cos I do not know how''' I deleted them from not only the camera but the file too.
Will have to take them again but in the meantime I am off for that template.
Hope that you have all had a great weekend.

S C D and the letter 'B'

Happy Friday it's almost the weekend and time once again for S C D the challenge to create something, anything as long as it has something to do with the letter 'B'

Mine includes a bird, birdcage, bauble, butler and the words.... believe, birds and bespoke

all on a......

Book mark and again this one is for a friend...hope that you like it Chris you did asked me to make you one.... just need to loop the fibres and ribbons onto it.
I stamped and grunged the background with TH inks and found the rest from a magazine.

The middle 2 pics I had to take without a flash as no matter how much I tried it reflected in the card.

Thanks for looking and hope that you all have a great weekend.

If you wish to join in with the challenge take a look over H E R E

Something Completely Different

This week over at Something Completely Different we are challenged to use the letter 'W' in our creative offering..... I can hear you say ah! ....it must be..... 'W'oman :) and yes, it could be...

BUT this is me we are talking about and as I wanted to show this piece ......my very FIRST digi ATC which I created about 5 weeks ago with a tute from Chris (there's nothing that girl can't do)

I looked at it long and hard and came up with..... wait for it..... PMSL
'W' rought iron fleur-de-lis... ...LOL
The fleur-de-lis (or fleur-de-lys; plural: fleurs-de-lis; French pronunciation: [flœʁ dΙ™ lis]) is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, not that you didn't already know this.
All elements are from Lisa's Altered Art digital images.
Hope that this counts.
Have a great evening
