Something Completely Different

This week over at Something Completely Different we are challenged to use the letter 'W' in our creative offering..... I can hear you say ah! ....it must be..... 'W'oman :) and yes, it could be...

BUT this is me we are talking about and as I wanted to show this piece ......my very FIRST digi ATC which I created about 5 weeks ago with a tute from Chris (there's nothing that girl can't do)

I looked at it long and hard and came up with..... wait for it..... PMSL
'W' rought iron fleur-de-lis... ...LOL
The fleur-de-lis (or fleur-de-lys; plural: fleurs-de-lis; French pronunciation: [flœʁ dΙ™ lis]) is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, not that you didn't already know this.
All elements are from Lisa's Altered Art digital images.
Hope that this counts.
Have a great evening

NEWS UP DATE, Zettiology ATC challenge

Over at our ATC swap blog this month we have a challenge set by the talented and gorgeous Hermine, to create 5 Zettiology ATC's.

Zettiology is new to me the 1st one I created I wasn't keen on, the 2nd I quite liked the 3rd and 4th were a completely different style altogether, which I do like but will save those 4 for another time as the next 5 ATC's are the ones I am entering for the swap over HERE.

I was soo lucky to receive some wonderful NEW stamps from Crafty Individuals on Wednesday and fell in love with the BIRD stamp and just had to use it on my Zettie's

The first ATC I created using a stamp from Cherry pie over at Scrapz.

ATC's 2 3 4 5 I have incorporated CI papers and stamps although the cup and saucer and the penny farthing are not there's and I cannot remember who's they are, sorry.

The striped limbs are those of teesha moore ...love them.... love them... love them x

1 removed for publication :)

Thank you Hermine for being our Guest ATC Designer for January.
See post on the 31st December over HERE

Meet my gorgeous grandson Marley He now lives with me and is wonderful company.

Well the house alterations are almost complete although there is still some work which needs to be finished by the builder but not sure I will ever see him again ... a word of advise.... never pay up in full until all the work is complete .

I hope to have more time to play with my stash again after Christmas in the meantime here are some ATC's I did in July before I moved house, they were made for the Fiskars ATC challenge theme on fruit....If you look closely you can see my backgrounds are recycled paper which has fruit on it....reminds me of Pims

the others from the set of fruit ATC's are on a post further down the page
Thanks for looking.

TWINCHIES & JEWELRY

Happy Friday,
During the time that I was without a puter I played with my beads here is another necklace for a friends craft table at the weekend... The hot pink beads are from Denise in Dubai...thank Denise xxxx This one is called 'Pink Wink'

Now then Chris and I got together this week and had a great time creating 2''x2'' pieces of art, they are otherwise known as Twinchies, we know alot of you know about them already but what you may not know is that there is a challenge blog out there for both Inchies and twinchies and my pal Chris introduced me to it and am I so glad she did.... why not check it out over HERE

The theme for this week is 'SCHOOL' and this is my take on the challenge using 'Lisa's Altered Art' images.

LAA has a brand new sheet out on sale right now its 'ZANY' go see for yourself over HERE I can't wait to use it.
Chris not only told me about that blog but she also told me about another great challenge blog too and it just happens to be doing twinchies for their 1st few weeks
check it out over HERE.

Today their theme is BIRDS and as I just happen to have a new Crafty Individual bird stamp here is my entry for this week.
I also caught up with the last 2 weeks challenges and had a great time doing them.... the green and pink being my 1st ever twinchie.

And the bottom one well I just couldnt resist using that little girl in the background who is waiting for her wings as she looks just like me at her age...must find you a photo out one day to show you.
Thanks for looking and big smiles to be back.

Have a great weekend x

altered drawers

Do You remember this set of drawers I showed you earlier in the week...
I promised to show you how I transformed them and brought them up to date.
As I have had them at least 10yrs although packed away for the last 5 I decided they needed a fresh new look.

By giving them an undercoat using Gesso (however If I did the same again I would use ordinary craft paint to give an undercoat) I then used a brown acrylic paint on them giving them a lovely look of dark wood.

Insided each of the eight drawers I painted a different colour,

I then added a 1 inch button to the front of each...now you would think I would be going to keep buttons in them but ...no....

I am using them to house some of my gorgeous beads.... my new hobby...my lovely friend Denise has turned me into a bead monster...LOL.
Thank you for looking and I have not forgotten that I have promised to show you some other 'stuff '...I have been altering.
Chris and I have had a great 48hrs crafting away and we will show you all very soon.
Have a lovely Friday tomorrow.

Alter a photo challenge

Here we are as promised our January challenge to 'ALTER A PHOTO' our challenge challenged both Chris (Mrs Bling) and I as we had never done one before..lol
But that's what it's all about.

So here we go this first photo is of Chris' DD and DG and don't you think they are the spit of our Chris.

Here it is altered...Chris gave it a real grungy background with a modern feel to it, those letters are so small, she did them free hand and then took for ages to cut them out .... 'Fancy that'Chris enjoyed it so much lol she did a second one to share with you... once again DG. Wait till you see this altered piece it is sooo gorgeous and original the words are wicked.

What did I tell you..it took her all night to come up with those words but hey it was worth it Chris....how original is that.
Mine, well, some of you have seen my photo I chose to alter already in the post below but for those that have not here it is.
2nd from the left is my youngest son Leigh, he was best man for his good friend Jez 2nd from the right.
Although challenging I did have alot of fun with this one... I used gesso on the background to start with.

changed the heads using images from Artchix studios which I have had a lonnnng time... searched a catalogue for the red pieces and combed a magazine for the words.
I am actually so pleased with it I am framing it.
O.K. you want to join in the fun I can tell :).... and so you can....
Everyone can take part by altering a photo and sending..... *****UPDATE*****... THE BEFORE PHOTO AND THE ALTERED ONE....by email to Chris at ..... chrisrowe@gmail.com by the closing date Friday 30th Jan 09. at midnight UK time.
Chris will put them up on here along with a poll for you to vote on your fave piece of work....ATTENTION.... there will no longer be a poll voting system PLEASE see the post above. THANK YOU. xx
This month we have been sponsored by Caroline at 'Bubbly Funk' she has been kind enough to donate this fab prize below of 6 assorted shades of chalk inks by Versa Magic...how cool are they, we are so jealous as we cannot win them...neither Chris or I have tried them YET, watch this space!
So why not pop over and visit Caroline and see what other goodies she has .... hey, whisper... ''She has up to 50% OFF many of her products.''
Click on HERE
She also has a forum that you may wish to join in with the fun.

Now feast your eyes on this selection of goodies and they could all be yours

What are you waiting for, get out those photo's and have some fun.
Have fun and have a fab week.

Awfully big art adventure L & R

For the challenge on Linda & Rosies BAA where the challenge was to create a thick wooden ATC... well I had no wood apart from some mounted wooden stamps and so.... into the microwave for a couple of seconds (please don't try this at home..LOL) to loosen the glue and off came the rubber image. just like that.

I gessoed the wood twice and then poured a few drops of ink onto a makeup pad and rubbed it into the gesso...cut out some images and adhered them to the block and with some of my fave stamps I added postal franks.
Chris took the top 2 pics and somehow we didnt get the reverse photographed b4 she left for home...what were we thinking about... so I must appologise at my attempt at using my camcorder on my laptop, the pic is really bad. The top pictures are the true colours.
The bathing beauty in a sitting pose had to have some celulite removed last night... I swear... you ask Chris..lol.

I have only had this laptop 2years this Christmas.. lol and never used the camera ...but really must get one of the DGC to show me how.... ROFPMSL.
My ATC block I have decided is a wooden postcard.
Thanks for looking and thanks for the challenge ladies.
Have a lovely weekend.
Chriss.
PLEASE CHECK OUT THE ALTERED CD CHALLENGE ENTRIES BELOW AND VOTE FOR YOUR FAVE TO WIN. x
